Title: Grand Coalitions in Germany: A Comparative Analysis
<Abstract>
There are four main competitors in German party politics. These are the Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union, the Social Democratic Party, the Free Democratic Party and the Green party. Usually, one of the major parties (CDU/CSU or SPD) and one of the smaller parties (FDP or the Greens) form the coalition government. However, in two extraordinary cases major parties joined together to form a coalition government: in 1966-69 and since 2005. This so-called Grand Coalition (GC) necessitates major compromises on important policy matters. The present GC is often criticized for its prolonged policy disputes and decision-making impasse. However, is the GC always problematic? What happened to the 1966 GC? I will explore the differences between the two GCs, focusing on their origins, legislatures, executives and opposition parties.

ドイツの政党政治についてプレゼンをしますー。

後はひたすら練習だなぁ。。。あと質問された時の答えも。
